Congratulations to 333 Long Neck Elementary students nominated as “Students of the Month” this year!  Kick n’ Chicken has sponsored the student of the month program the entire year with two kid’s meals as an award for their STAR behavior.  They discussed with Mr. Costello the importance of being an excellent student but also being great in the community.  Their goal this summer is to make Long Neck an even better community with their presence and resilience, much like Charlie Pollard the owner of Kick n’ Chicken has.  The afternoon was topped off with chicken from Kick n’ Chicken and water ice from Nana & Pop’s right here in Long Neck as well.  Thank you to all the staff, local businesses and community members on this memorable year!  Please keep an eye out for those “We support Long Neck Elementary School” support signs at your local businesses.

The students participated in a week-long can collection for the school’s First Annual Bunny Hop before Spring Break. The recipients of the canned goods raised by the students were Mary Mother of Peace, Bayside Chapel, Long Neck United Methodist Church, Bethel Tabernacle, Community Church of Oak Orchard, Indian River School district food pantry, and Joseph's Storehouse. We Totaled 1,300 cans in 5 days! With all of the students working together we were able to have everyone participate in the Bunny Hop as well.  Congratulations to Ms. Waller’s class who were the Bunny Hop Champions this year!
